Fish oil baits

I have seen bottles of fish oil, lugworm oil and others for sale. Has anyone any idea how it is used? Is there a way to make hook bait more attractive with it? - or even an artificial material that would soak it up and release it when on a hook in the sea?

Tried a few of these oils myself. Thought they where just a waste of money. But if you want to use them you can just spray some on the bait before casting or inject the bait with some.

Ah - inject. That explains a lot - I remember seeing a man in a moored cruiser on LoughErne last year doing something with a hypodermic needle and a sauseage!
Thanks for the advice.

You can get syringe sets in the angling shops with suitably wide bore canules, the oil is extremely thick on a beach in the middle of winter.
You can also use it to inject air into the body cavity of a dead bait to make it pop up off the bottom.

Thanks - this will save me from using the old ones round the back of the supermarket.
