Cheap breathable waterproofs.
Was in Aldi during the week and noticed that they are selling Thinsulate wafer proof pants for under 20 euro. Perfect for kitting yourself out over the coming winter . The biggest enemy on a winters night is the cold. The equivelent pants in the likes of The Great Outdoors will cost you at least 80 euro.

Well, not in the same price range, but for the really cold weather, you could do worse than use chest waders. 4mm Neoprene really keeps the cold out, and there's no chance of a stray wave going over the top of your wellies when your reeling in.
