North/ North east winds on the way for this weekend.
Are they as bad as everyone says..?

Hoping it doesnt screw up our weekend.

Any comments would be appreciated

dunno about the east coast, but for the west coast they are bad news..

there is only one beach over here i know of that fishes on and easterly and even then it has to be south easterly...

Well them winds will make a nice surf on the Dublin beaches. but it stires the bottom up and colours the water so deep water marks are affected.

Thats what I heard alright. Was speaking to Bob Moss about them before and he said it can kill the fishing in Dingle. Im hoping the high pressure will make up for it but looks bleek.

eoghan, i.mo. east wind is o.k. for the first few days after that it tends to have a bad effect, makes the fish sick.

As the old saying goes. When the winds in the east fish bite the least, when the winds in the north don't venture forth. Holds true in my experience.

eoin you might still find surf and bass on the east facing beaches on the penninsula. some places too, that arent surf dependant will still fish. have caught fish , bass wrasse pollock etc, in north, south, west and east winds in dingle so its not all doom and gloom.

not ideal maybe, but not a total killer either

I was afraid you would say that...!! :-)

We will just have to see. Will seek out east facing surf beaches if needs be Adam, not a bad idea. I prefer not to fish surf beaches but might have to if other marks are quiet.

Tnks lads..! (Say a prayer) :-)

Dont preoccupy yourself with it now, low confidence starting out will do you no favours!!

You seem to have done very well on your trips to dingle over time, it cant all be luck over and over again so use the knowledge you must have to find the fish and enjoy  :D

Easterly Winds

Easterly winds with a sudden drop in temp can have an impact. Sea temps have dropped in the last week. Fished the last two days and they have been crap to be honest despite the favourable moonphase.
