You'll get rockling, coalie and conger on greystones North beach, in fact I think I had five species there one night.

Yep I've had two straps there, one of them almost on the 10lb.

theres a big rocky spit that you can see at low tide when heading towards shankill, its just before the shaganagh river, bring plenty of leads!

ennereilly for huss, smouth hounds, and mayb the odd ray... use crab baits

Tue Sep 18, 2007 9:18 pm

Wheres Ennereilly...??? how far south down the coast.

Tue Sep 18, 2007 11:10 pm

ennereilly is south of Brittas Bay, but before Arklow. You can turn off at the Widow Scanlon's pub, and then follow the road on the coast south. you'll see the fishing sign.

isn't here a good chance of bass at ennereilly too? how about ragworm as a bait there, crab is a bit hard to come bu.

I've taken some nice flounder there too...

Courtown north is fishing well for ray at da moment wit fish baits.

Tue Sep 18, 2007 11:19 pm

uvox i think you might be getting mixed up .

the widow scanlons pub used to be on pearse street in dublin.

the pub you are talking about is JACK WHITES pub.

angry missus

ennerielly / courtown, sounds promising will defo give one a bash maybe friday evening/night. chasing my species before the weather turns. species junkie now dont know why that came over me in the last few weeks but good fun to target specific fish rather than just wetting a line. should never have joined this site too many marks to fish now lol, all good though. the missus isnt gonna be happy.

thanks for the info lads, hope theres no red herrings there

rag @ ennerreilly should get you a few flats and whiting at least, throw a crab bait out aswell if you can get it... i found sandeels work well down there too... my best catches have all been at dusk on this mark, tide never seemed to affect the fishing there much, let me no how you get on, tight lines

Wed Sep 19, 2007 9:19 pm

right yeah - jack white's (the widow nevins) pub, not the widow scanlon's. pubs - you'd think i'd be an expert by this stage.

agreed - dusk is the best time at ennereilly.

any of these spots good on the fly???

Sun Sep 23, 2007 6:17 pm

I have seen people trying the fly up around the rocks up at the Brittas Bay end, near the river, but don't recall anyone catching anything. it used to be a good spot for sea-trout, but illegal netting there has ruined that - it got so bad a few years ago that there was a garda car parked permanently on the bridge over the river.
