I was just wondering if many people were given passed down Marks from Father to son' uncles' freinds father ETC. I for one never had anybody related into fishing so never knew any realy good Marks "still dont". :( Just have the site to point me in the right direction. :D

Same as you Martin whatever i have learned (which isn't much) i learned it the hard way, by trial and error.
Thankfully my Daughter is almost as mad about Angling as me so i am able to teach here things. Its funny but my son has no interest in Angling at all, Is this unusual :?: or have other Members had this situation also.

I've had to learn the hard way as well. I just have to ask questions all the time about good marks/techniques and source info from site like this. My girls are both into fishing (13 and 6), particularily the eldest but the girly thing comes through a bit though as she won't touch either the bait or fish caught. Can be a laugh though.

have been told about a few. not so much a secret but more of a help! learning the hard way can sometimes help find a spot that is overlooked by others...

guess i was lucky to have a father and uncle who were mad into fishing, we used to spend most evenings in the summer on the beaches or rocks in clare or out in the boat in cork harbour, and the winter chasing cod in cork.
always seemed to catch more and bigger fish then too, or maybe i only think that coz i was smaller then :?
