Hello, and looking for some advice!!

Hi all,
this is my first post, but I have been checking in and out of the reports, and it is very informative, and enjoyable. I am returning to the sea angling fold after being out of it for a good few years, and I will be on holidays in Dunmore East for a week, the week after next, so I am looking for any help or information in that area to get back in to the sport. Any trips I will take , I will be accompanied by my teenage son. I look forward to hearing from You guys, and again, this site is awsome.................

Try the rock ledges at the back of the harbour. Spinning or trolling a strip of mackeral. Drive around to Saleens - the entrance to the back-strand in Tramore - spin or float or bottom fish. Brownstown Head - float or spin. Go back to Woodstown beach for bottom fishing. You can hire boats in the harbour near the adventure centre. And there are (were??) some boats working from the harbour which will take you out off the hook. John O'Connor was the guy I used to use.

Will get makeral with feathers off the main pier in dunmore, on the bottom ul get loads of dab with makeral strips literally 3 a cast every time for myself and friends last summer we also got strap conger and loads of doggies on the pier fresh mak being the best bait! tight lines...

Thanks for the intro pete :wink: :lol: ...Around dunmore the best spot for handyness would be the breakwater or the flat rocks, on round the coast a small bit and you will hit portally cove, but its a bit of a hike...At the flat rocks you will get pollock,mackeral and wrasse and dogs 2... for wrasse id use rag, for mackeral and pollock would be feathers and dogs mackeral...this spot can be very busy... a drive round the coast toward tramore and u will hit the saleens, which is deadly for bass fishing on lures...sea trout avaiable too and flounder on the bottom...u should have mullet goin in and around dunmore harbour and the saleens too... hope this is helpful...slan
