marks in North Clare

I am heading up to North Clare at the end of September and would appreciate any advice on marks etc. Also any suppliers of frozen bait. I will probably be staying around the Doolin area.

Hi Seagull,

I was down there for a week at the end of July. The petrol station on the right, on the Doolin side of Lisconner stocks frozen sandeel, Peeler and I think they had squid too, also some tackle. The supermarket further on on the left stocks frozen bait but they only had squid when I was there, they also have some tackle.
Check out the mark info on this site they're all pretty much covered from what I can gather:

best mark close to Doolin is Ballyreen, Check out the mark info and additional info:

Also I was told by the guy with the chip van there, that there was a lot of dogs
Also check out the Reports Forum, there's a few Clare reports in there.

Hope this helps.

Frozen bait

A good range of frozen bait is available from the Post Office / Shop in Fanore which is about 8 miles north of Doolin. This shop also sells quite a good range of tackle and accessories too. A tackle shop, being part of a general store, is also located in nearby Lisdoonvarna.
A good shore mark is at Ard Na Glasha about 4 miles N. of Doolin. It is a long walk to get to but worth it for a long and hopefully fruitful session. There is deep water there at very close range. Difficult to decribe route, if you wish more details then PM me.

Cheers guys. I checked out a few of the marks when I was up that way a few weeks back, just looking, not fishing. Peter, I will get in touch nearer the time. Cheers.
