Advice needed!!!

Im looking to get a new rod,, something good for casting that i can bend unlike my last rod!! would like to be able to fish over mixed ground with it and it would have to have nice bite detection,,, any ideas i usually rush in a spend alot of money on gear i havnt really thought about.

Check out the Century TT Match. Has a lovely tip and some guts too if you need to haul in over mixed ground.

The Century Carbon Metal/CM Express are both excellent rods also.

Or what about the Grey's range, Tony's Tackle is doing great deals on these at the moment.

I have heard that the Syntra/Supro are good and better suited to mixed ground than the PZ Match (which i have and love!!)

Can't comment on the Zziplex range . . .but also, the Dawia, TNXS or the Daiwa 130M, the black rod, (can't think of the name) its part of the 129/133 PM range of rods, its about £229STG at the moment . . .

There are loads of rods to choose from . . .

Just started casting with my Century CCC LD. Very nice slim rod with plenty of power if needed. Bite detection seems like it will be good, but not for very small fish that rattle the tip.... Somethink Like the Tip Tornado would be better for spotting the smaller fish bites. If your looking for all of the above then maybe a Zziplex 3500 might be in order, but it will cost you more.

Have the greys apollo 14ft i bought it for rough ground i really like it and its brilliant for doggies and congers and thats why i got it!! but just looking for something a bit lighter.

Triplex. Very versatile rod with superb bite detection.

agree with petekd, i have the triplex 16ft, and a buddy has the 14foot version, neither of us would be described as casters or anywhere near it and are both capable of adding several extra yards to our casts, excellent bight detection and very strong. i can even tell when i have the likes of tiny dabs on, thats how sensitive it is

Was looking at some century rods today on the net and they look very nice indeed, but theres a very big variety in the kompresser and tip tornado range, any ideas lads what would be a better rod for what im looking for.

In my opinion i'd stay well clear of the Kompressor range . . . These are powerful rods (and excellent rods i might add) and probably not what you should be looking at.

The TT or CM range is where you should be looking if you are thiking of buying from Century.

I have the TT Sport, which I find a little stiff in the tip for small stuff (except at close range) but a great doggie rod. It can cast well too. It can launch 3 big baits and 6oz no problem.

The TT Match/SUpermatch have better "fishing" tips from what I understand.

Tip tornado super match james...or the carbon metal...both fantastic rod...but for mixed ground i wouldnt rule out the greys range either... somethin like the syntra or triplex even...

from what i hear from an awfull lot of casters/anglers the best multi purpose rod is the Zziplex Primo Syncro, super to fish with and still has achived 290+yards on the field. I have cast andrew g,s which is the XL version which is 15ft and its a very decieving rod, beautiful tip for bites and a tone of power all in a very slim blank. While i not a fan of centurys at all i do like the CME and BB but IMO there a bit softer in the mid section compared to the zzippy but still seem quite nice, hope this help you.

what was your last rod ,if you couldn,t bend that stay clear of the kompressor xcellent bit of kit but very powerfull i just started using the century cccld xcellent rod it,s a century but has the bite detection of a zzippie (also have a zzippie 4500s xcellent match rod) it isn,t a hernia pole to cast with doesn,t bite back when you miss time the cast (thankfully :shock: ) it has now become my no1 fishing rod thoroughly recommend this rod :D got mine from gerrys morecombe for £206.00 on line +pp :lol:

Just started field casting with the LD will. So far it seems like a really nice rod. I'm looking forward to having a fish with it, to see how the bite detection is.

go for a tt supermatch..it is a v gud casting rod..good bite detection and can be used in most situations! iv used it for flatty fishin and have seen the bites and i was told its strong enough for conger also! which i will hopefully testing soon :D :D :D 8)
