fintan use the smallest u can get. 2 way beads r another option. if scratchin in rough seas standard rigs n swivels will be fine. light lines knot better on smaller swivels.

I use size 10 for most stuff, or size 8 for heavier fishing.

4 WAY BEADS

Use the 4 way beads

What is the advantage of 2-way beads over swivels?

has anybody thought of using the tiny rings we use for joining different diameter mono for fly fishing leaders.these are 2mm in diam and virtually invisable when tied in place. they also have a breaking point of 25lbs.

I bought 24's for my latest scratching rigs, nice and small. Still have to field test, but seems as if they'll work fine.

i use size 24 or 4way beads, size 24 still have a breaking strain if over 20lbs

Just wondering what the breaking strain on a 10 or 12 is.

I think 10s are about 45lbs.
