Was just wondering does anybody have any info about this rod,, im after hearing some grat stuff about it, how would it match up to the new zziplex profile,, was thinking of getting one of the above for beach/casting. Also any ideas on how much the celtic tiger is?

the celtic tiger is more for rough ground fishing, the zziplex profile is
ten times the rod, the celtic tiger 280 sterling, 20quid more gets you
the profile, no contest what so ever, profile for sure.

I would class the Tiger as more of a mixed ground rod. I use one here in the Shannon. A rough ground rod for me would more like a Nemisis Slr PLus or a Conoflex Red oblivion. I have used the tiger on clean beachs too along the east coast a couple of times, its ok for for inclose work ie flats casting with maddies and soft baits but I would think the profile would be better suited to this kind of work.
If you want an all round rod, that will cope with weed and rough patchs, but will still be able to fish for small fish on clean ground I would reccommend it to you. Its a slim rod with good bite detection and it casts well too. Two of my mates also use them and they have fished with them here in the Shannon and east coast too.

Dont touch the Celtic Tiger, know of three different rods that snapped about a foot from the tip.

i have used a celtic tiger for 6yrs with no trouble. i wouldnt use it for rough ground there is better rods out there for that but it is a good all round rod, ive used it on clean beach for flats and on mixed ground venues for dogs/rays/huss.
i have never seen one break and i have seen alot of them in action by different people. the welsh wizard is the same blank and there is alot of them in use in wales.

pretty sure the conoflex lionheart is the same blank to. your right the rod was designed for clean/mixed ground match fishing. good rod to cast bait. you could not compare it to a profile for one minute stevo 2 different type rods.

Just interested what people think about the Conoflex Red Oblivion being classed as a rough ground rod in one of the above posts. I know its very powerful but is it not more of a gerenal fishing tool/mixed ground?

sorry to disagree chaps, the profile has been stated as the new modern
2500 with a bit more backbone, rating for fishing clean and mixed
ground fishing, has already recorded distances in excess of 270 yards
tournament casting 125gms .
