rubby dubby for congers

Any conger hunters out there use rubby dubby from the shore to get the congers to home in on your bait to any affect what's your favourite mix ?

I have used the rubby dubby in the past. It is good if you are pleasure fishing as it does draw the eels to your bait. 8) You have to keep the rubby dubby small, use something like an onion sack to get the tide to work it properly. Why I say using it in relation to pleasure fishing is dependent on the tide flow. You can get alot of interest for a fellow angler over the next few peggs in a comp situation thus helping them to catch too. :roll: :shock:

I've used rubby dubby of the pier at bangor to good effect ,liquidised mackerel mixed with porridge oats and some sardines does the trick normally ,you can also make small bags up and put them on as bait ,had a 20lb+ conger last year on the wee bag :lol:

maybv a feeder would be an option too...never tried, just an idea

had good conger to over 30lbs in harbours using coarse fishing style groundbait, ie balls of it thrown in. with fish oil, ground up trout pellets and mashed up sardine and mack in.

have also bagged it in a sack and cought from rocks

ya i sometimes use it for shore conger!! it works!
