There two of the codling caught down the wall, all roughly the same size. not huge but its a improvment on what was being caught and i seems mussel is doing the job for the bigger fish not crab . Plenty of lovely whiting there though at the minute.

Fished the wall Monday afternoon from high tide to 3hrs down using crab and mackerel. Plenty of codling and whiting but all pretty small and nothing worth keeping.......I don't think it's really worth the trip at the mo....

Anything much showing yet lads? Trying to decide on a location that gives me the best chance of a couple of cod from the shore. I have one nights pass to fish and don't want to waste it hitting the wrong spot. It's going to be youghal, monkstown or waterford I reckon. Any ideas?

With the amount of fresh water coming down the Blackwater you didn't have a hope - every salt water fish will have been pushed well out into the bay. It will need about a week of fairly dry weather before there will be a chance of catching anything around there.

Hi all, was going to hit Monkstown at the weekend but all the rain that fell put paid to that plan, reckoned it would be futile.
Was wondering how much dry weather would be needed after a wet spell like we're having now before the fish would start to show again?

Cheers,

Hey short circuit check out the above post by rockhunter....... You wont go far wrong with his advice. :D If I were you I would be looking to a surrounding beach on the incomming tide when the blackwater is in flood.
