WEED WATCH - Wicklow / Wexford

really?! was it a southerly breeze?
i was going to stay away from the south wexford beaches this weekend due to the wind direction...

The borrow was grand the harbour blocks the weed when its blowing south east.. But everywhere else i wouldn't chance.. If it blowing south or southwest I'd say it would be weeded up.. It's hard to judge.!!

I think i'll just play it safe and stick to the east coast

Thinking of fishing Courtown myself tomorrow lads so i might see you's there. You fishing the Burrow or Dodds rocks?

dont know the area that well. was planning on fishing the beach north of the town

thats the burrow. I lived there for about 6 years. great smoothound at the south end of the beach and some ray can be taken at the north end. there is a deep hole half way up the beach which can get all sorts too. i'm thinking of trying the clone strand competition either on saturday evening. just found out about it an hour ago.

Not sure where to go now. too much choice

Ballymoney was pretty much unfishable tonight, crazy amount of weed. Gave up after a little while. Now trying to work out what to do with rag and lug I wish I hadn't bought!

its looks like south easterly wind from what i've been seeing in forecasts so far. From what i'm told that can mean weed if you're not on a sheltered beach. i'm thinking of heading down myself on saturday. where you thinking of fishing?

Sounds like an Orgy. I'm going down that way too, with my two young nephews. Old Bawn/Ballinoulart/Morriscastle.
I believe Ballinoulart fishes better on a dropping tide, however, Morriscastle has a nice chipper. Decisions decisions

we're planning on hitting the south beaches, rostoonstown, coombe area, if the wind doesnt wreck the plan

No weed down south!!! Friends fished killmore yesterday no weed.. Shore mackerel, dogs, bass, smoothhounds heading down friday..

Hope so but that wind was blowing heavy there today.. If anyone knows what it's like let us no please save hassle and petrol....?
