the way i look at it is , if they are well behaved theres not much you can do. they can kill all they like as we have no laws to limit sizes for most species, time for some maybe?

if they are badly behaved then i try to use what ever i can against them, if they are drinking go tell them its illegal in public, if they threaten you ring the gardai under the public order act, other than that though what can you do?

you could try and bluff them, tell them you will call a baliff and try to get them to simmer down, might work. if they kill any sea trout or salmon with no licence call the fisheries board of the gardai, or bass out of season ,other than that though all you can do is leave them to the public marks and hope they all hook each other

if its freshwater though and they kill any pike over 50cm or coarse fish over 25cm then they are breaking the law, call the fisheries board. or a waterkeeper if you know one

also if anyone has any info on any illegal killing of coarse fish, long lining or netting in the area of maynooth, leixlip, celbridge, kilcock and lucan can you pass it onto me, have just become a waterkeeper in that area and will be looking to crack down on such practices
