Would a beach shelter help on a day like today? That is, no real wind, but very cold?

A beach shelter is a nice little extra to have but along the Cork beaches there are of little use as the tide can be a long way off the high water mark for most of the time. You will spend most of your time at the waters edge watching your rod.

Yeah I see anglers taking beach shelters and set them up 50 yards behind them just to cover the bait. Would be very handy on the deeper beaches with a slow tidal movement. Floatation jackets are warm but can hamper your movement for shore angling compared to boat fishing where you just drop your line. Some nice quality windproof and waterproof fishing jackets out there are snug as a bug too
