i have an igloo and a beach buddy i cant afford to get rid of the wife or buy a new house on a beach so i,m keeping all four and will down size as finances dictate with the wife going first followed by the house followed by the igloo leaving the beach buddy till last as it has privacy curtains and will be easier to heat compared to the igloo during the winter

I've used them in the deserts of kazakstan, uzbekistan to keep from burnging alive but never on a beach.
thing with tarp is you need something tough to tie it on to. we used to tie them to the front and back of roof racks. two cars next to each other. couldn't see that working on a beach though.

have a look at the cod cabin, similar to a beach buddy type design but the poles fold in the middle so will fit in the boot easily and the doors can be fully closed. its 89 stg ya have to get them direct from the company i think but put it into goole and will come up.
