MAC wrote:I think you'll do alright Poacher..... Thing about guiding though is that the fishing is normally for half day or a full day. Might be an idea to have a spot or two that produce on an outgoing tide as well. A lot of people looking for guides are into plugging or fly fishing so it would help to have a couple of spots for that type of fishing. You'll need slimmer flies for your regular spot, where normall Bass flies will work in most of the other areas around you.

Never felt comfortable reading about specimen hunters who live on a river bank for months and get in Anglers Mail with their catches. You are much the same. I hope that you declare your earnings from "ghillie work" for benefit and tax purposes....although knowing your sort I doubt it

Writing a book would mean everyone knowing your self proclaimed secret, hence your gillie idea taken a dive. If yours stats are true, then its unusual I have not heard of you, have you ever claimed a specimen? Well I think Ireland is too full of be grudgers and cynics for me to jump in so I accept your challenge. I propose a competition on a venue of your choice with a limited amount of anglers. If you produce these results then I would gladly recommend you to all my angling associates, if not then you have to accept your defeat publicly via this site, get a job and and keep the cynics happy? Deal? Who else is up for this?

You keep 45 bass each year ... isn't that a little excessive? If I ate two bass a week I'd never want to see another one again. :)
I love statistics.

Fair play for getting that extra info noone else can seemingly get and managing to keep it secret and now offering others a service by sharing it for a modest price.(i hope)if all is true then good luck but i would be interested to know if any other forum members can back this up now.
