i caught my first doggie last week and my second one last night. i thought they were great but then i would as they were the biggest fish id landed since i started fishing this summer. hopefully they'll be the first ones of many....

could it be that doggies may not always be mans best friend?recently a trawler in east cork landed 30 boxes and got the huge price of 9 euro abox.at this rate our old friends may not be so helpful when it comes to saving a blank

agree there mate, doggies are a great wee fish, not great fighting unless you use light tackle, they always bite and have saved a few blanks for me

i dont mind catching dogs but it does me head in when fishing for ray and they seem to be on your bait in two seconds and dont give anything else a chance to cover the bait
