Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th the 1st session was to be on Katt Strand but apparently has been changed to Blackwater-Tinnebearra. Saturday evening is on Rossdoonstown and Sunday has been changed to Katt Strand. Headquarters is the Saltees hotel Kilmore Quay

top anglers??? out of the 100 or so anglers that fish it, only 10-12 of these are top anglers, the rest r only there to make up the numbers.

Is that not a little unfair Cono-flex32. My understanding of the Master Angler is that the top angler from every club in Ireland will be fishing the event. I can not understand how there can only be 10 -12 top anglers present. No matter who is fishing I think there are plenty of anglers around that can pick up plenty of tips at matches like this.

The sort of website where personal attacks will rapidly result in your membership being withdrawn.
If you have problems with the Irish Team, take it up with the IFSA, please.

Weaver, I personally would love to have the opportunity to fish a master angler, shore or boat. Not through any thoughts or aspirations of getting onto the irish team but purely on the basis that I would love to see how the cream of every other club approaches the match and what sort of tactics they would employ. A huge opportunity to learn new tactics and methods to carry forward into your day to day fishing.

All I wanted to know was where this thing was happening and at what times. I just want to go along and see what s happening. I'm sure I could pick up a tip or two along the line. Does anyone have times ?

You wont learn jack from going to see the boys fish the master angler. Your best bet is to walk along the beach during the next leinster league comp or better still go and have a look at the boys fishing the daiwa pairs next week. Believe me mate there are a lot of cowboys at the master angler and you'd be better off staying well clear unless you have to fish it.
You'd learn more from going to one leinster league comp than you would in going to ten master anglers. Theres a leinster league comp on the first of October if your interested.
Irish Team finished 15th out of 17 in the world championships last week for all you boys who think the master angler is such a great comp!

Have you ever fished the masters steve? Cos it doesn't sound like you have. You get lads goin onto the beach half cut with 20 rag maybe a mackeral and they might catch one flounder each session and then at the end of all that there on the Irish Team. Its a JOKE of a comp! Are you mad or something? :?

i'm not the one on any kind of horse... fishing is a pasttime for some and a sport for others.. its not fair to people to get judged by those who think they are better than the rest
