so what is your p.b.?
mine is a 21lb conger from tarbert pier in the depths of winter memorable catch.

Garoid,
Thats a good fish from the shore. Mine is the 17lb conger from coalhill point.
The heaviest fish that are caught from the shore will be Tope and Sting Ray which are both caught from the shore in Tralee bay. Tope between 30-40lbs have been landed from the shore usually from late April - July.
Sting Ray of over 70lb have been landed from the shore in Tralee Bay. Several Irish records for Sting Ray have been set in Tralee Bay. Usually from caught between April through until July again.
It takes patiene to land one these fellows.

i am aware of that seventeen pounder you got i did land it like! only for me your p.b. would still only be a pin whiting or sumting.
Mon Apr 03, 2006 1:56 pm
Fair play you did grab him out of the water for me but the pin whiting bit thats a low did.
We will have to head down to Tralee bay and increase our heaviest fish weight. I have had Thornback to 15lb from the shore . Flounder to 2.5 lbs and Several bass up to 9lbs.

I'd love to even catch a double figure fish, the first one must be a great experience.I have some rigs made up for the conger and huss, hopefully I'll get a result.let's see what happens
Tue Apr 04, 2006 11:03 pm
ledgers are good rigs for the congers with rotten bottoms, wire and a big hook cant remember what my first double figure was probably a huss as far as i can remember.
