fishing shelter

Fri Aug 24, 2012 10:28 pm

im looking to invest in a fishing shelter. i already have 2 fairly cheap ones picked up in the market
but theres no way they would keep out a light drizzle let alone a heavy downpour, you can see through the seems.

was wondering what you guys use and what you think of them.looking for something that you could
put up by yourself without any hassle quickly.any recomendations?

thanks in advance
jason

I use the Ian Golds Igloo, never had any probs with it, have used it in some of the worse squalls I've fished in..

Will it fit in the back of a car across the back seats? i have put a lot of effort in only buying gear that doesn't have to cover my gear box by going lenght way. so sick of that

No I'm afraid you will have to put it thought at the gear box .
But you will have to do this with all shelters .

Sells them for 99 euro (last time I checked). I expect its the cheapest around. Not sure on delivery to Wexford though

If u want a shelter for fishing buy an igloo if you want to fit something in the car and get occasionally wet buy an umbrella.

The wet doesn't bother me to be honest, i love heavy rain. its more the wind that can make it miserable. my problem is i live in a very small house in the cty centre. my gear is usually in the car which is why i don't always want the gear in the way of the gearbox.

think i might get the igloo anyway though as thats a good price for it in shankhill. just need a bigger car or try and hide it indoors from the girlfriend.

Dont think i would be leaving my gear overnight in the car as i learned from past experiences  chat to the misses and even leave them out the back yard/garden and Paul Mason a pure gent to deal with....

I know and I agree. Working on getting it into the house but least most of it fits the boot except one rod which I sneak in. No garden unfortunately
