Location: Donegal Bay, out of Killybegs
Date: 22/09/2018
Conditions: Cloudy intervals, almost no wind, cool
Tackle: Muppets, Rubber sand eels and Hokkai-style jigs.
Results: Stayed in the Killybegs harbour area for about the first hour to pick up a few Mackerel before heading out further. There weren't a whole load of them but we managed a few, along with some Scad and a Launce, all falling to feathers. Heading out we switched to baited jelly worms and larger hokkai jigs, which lead to some decent sized Pollack being caught. After moving around we added Coalfish, Cuckoo Wrasse and some nicely-sized Pouting to the list before stopping just off Muckross Head where we landed some very decent Pollack, with the largest one pushing the double figure mark. My brother caught the only Ling of the trip much to my annoyance!
After about 7 hours on the water we headed back to port, not a bad day's fishing. ...
