Winter fishing 2017 by Anonymous on Tue Feb 07, 2017 10:29 pm
Friday the 6th of January ,I went out to cobh in search of codling and whiting. Hightide was supposed to be around the half 11 mark.It was a slack tide.I started fishing around 8pm, using lug as bait.I started off with a basic,1 hooked rig,a size 2 hook and my bait cliped down.Shortly after casting my bait was being attacked by pin whiting. At around half 9,I finely got a half deasent bite.It turned out to be a good sized whiting. About 30cm long.At one point even the whiting stoped. Then at about 10 to 11 I got another deasent bite. But this time a bit bigger.A nice codling about 3lbs.I went on fishing while there was still bait left over There were a few more small whiting. Then it was time to pack up.
