Introduction: Another fish for the nightmare filmmakers of this world, this awful fish has been reported in Irish waters regularly. Potentially four feet long (120 cms), it spends most of its adult life in the sea but spawns in rivers and will live most of its life in rivers and lakes.  They can attain a maximum weight of >.2 kilos and feed by sucking the life out of their prey.  This is made up of mostly dead flesh, however it can also include prime live fish.

Boat tactics: These are curiosities only, occassionally hauled in attached to large dead baits, and more rarely to your hooked prize.  Ugh!

Shore tactics: A possible capture in spring at estuaries where they arrive to spawn... and in lakes and rivers.
