Auckland advice

Postby corbyeire » Sat Jun 02, 2018 8:21 pm

it has crept up on me, will be away for a few weeks in NZ and based in Auckland. I wont be bringing any fishing gear with me but wouldnt mind trying around the city and hinterland. Is it possible to rent shore fishing gear or would i have to go down the route of a guide? Anyone any experience over there
thanks

Get onto the WSF forum Brian and get some info there. Bound to get plenty of advice, maybe even from some of the local NZ lads there if you're lucky.
Get the homework done! It'd be crazy to fly over to the other side of the world, a fishing mecca, and not have something pre-arranged..
2018 targets/hopes:
First tope
Specimen flounder 2.5lb+ or 40cm+
First bluefin tuna
A 30lb+ shore-caught halibut, a 20lb shore-caught cod, a 10lb+ coley. (Norway)
A Co.Antrim 4lb+ bass
6lb+ wild brown trout
