Which multiplier?

Postby Chris T » Sun Sep 03, 2017 10:19 am

Just wondering which multiplier anyone would recommend for conger and kayak fishing? Would prefer left hand and mid range cost.

Was thinking penn warfare or Leeds assassin but I haven't seen any in the flesh as I've been looking online.

Any suggestions??

If it's a shore multiplier you're after, you will need a bit of grunt to deal with Congers. You can get Penn 525 mag2s on sale sometimes for good value or get them second hand. The build quality is unreal

The 525 mag2 is perfect for the kayak too because it's pretty powerful but not to big and awkward

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

I thought I had found the perfect reel, the 535 mag2 but unfortunately it's only right hand and I just can't manage that as I'm just too awkward!

Does anyone have any further syggestions? Something with left hand, magnetic brakes if possible and a good fast retrieve. Mainly for kayak and shore conger fishing.

Thanks in advance!!
