Many species being caught around East Cork at the moment...haven't been fishing for a couple of years due to working away....back in the hunt....just wondering how the area is fishing?

I haven't fished the East Cork beaches but I have fished the slob bank twice this month. Plenty of good size flounder to be caught. Fished a Cloyne 3 hour comp there last Saturday week and had 12 fish, 5 species flounder, coalfish, cod, bass and a dogfish. best baits were crab lug took 2/3 fish

Thanks Donal,

Fished the high tide this afternoon at Ballycraneen and drew a blank...was using frozen bait and the weed was bad so wasnt expecting much...was good to get out casting though....will head out for a night session saturday if i can get fresh bait.

The Garryvoe and Youghal beaches only fish from dusk into darkness, a total waste of time in the day light. better off trying Ballycrooneen to the right hand side or walking over the rocks and fishing Ballybrannigan, both fish best the last two hours down and the first two up.
If you fish Ballycrooneen over high water fish on the rocks to the right where the fence comes down onto the rock,
