Bought a triplex at the start of the year and have found it to be an excellent beach rod, easy cast , good bite detection and deceiving power in it when required. anyone one else got one?what you think of it?

aint tried the 14ft yet, noticed it was rated for 5oz where the 16 is rated 6oz, had the 14 in my hands just and it seemed a bit floppier.

i think the 16 ft one is by far the better for casting and all over fishing.

Whats the Triplex like in heavy tides ?

ive used it on fahan with the tide hammering through, benone with a strong pull and on really blowy days.
with its length and lightness far enough it can bounce about a bit in the stand and with it being 16ft the tip has a fair bend in a strong tide but the mid section and butt have good power in them and it only seems to be the tip section itself that bends in the tide, not a bad thing as it doesnt knock some fish off during the retrieve like harder tipped rods tend to do some times.ive been able to use it pretty much everywhere apart from rough ground.i would definately recommend it for general beach and match fishing
