When: 23/09/2021
Where: Poulsallagh, Co. Clare
Who: Myself
Duration: 15:30 - 20:00
High Water: 19:30
Equipment: 9ft Spinning rod
My Bait: 80gr Jig & Feathers
Conditions: Strong south westerly and some swell. Rough water.
Result: 2 Pollock, 1 Ballan Wrasse, 6 Coalfish

Had the place to myself, with the rough weather keeping people away.
Quite choppy witha good tide flow. Wind and tide made it quite hard to feel the lure bottoming out.
Within 15 min I got the big take and got the Ballan Wrasse for my troubles.
Great fight from the fish and weighed just under 4 pounds.
Got two pollock shortly after that. One I pictured the other, looking less than a pound, I unhooked over the edge.
All went quiet for two hours, then the coalfish came.
Two taken close together while still spinning.
Moved to feathers for a bit to see if I could rustle up some mackeral to take home.
With a big hit I thought I was on to the fish of the day, but no.
In a first for me it was a string of four coalfish on the feathers.
All were around the one pound mark so got fired back in to the sea.
