Where: Howth East Pier
Duration: 19:00-22:00

Equipment: 11ft Daiwa bass rod with Shimano 4000 Reel
Bait/Rig: Shamrock Orange Bunty Tubes with 4oz lead.
Conditions: Bit breezy but not too bad.

Went down to Howth today to try get some mackerel to use as bait for a boat comp on Sunday, none about but did get 3 small pollock, all taking the feathers under the rod tip before my eyes which was cool to see!

How far down the East Pier were you Gonzo?
Did you have to cast out far for the Pollack?
Any seals about?

I was down right the very end on the rocks below the furthest lighthouse, I was casting a good distance trying to get mackerel but the pollock themselves were very close in, you could probably give it a little lob to get the pollock as I got all of them literally 3 feet away under the rod tip, I've been told float fishing some rag close in here is also good. There was one seal knocking about but he only popped his head up for a little bit!
