Location: Wexford
Time: 17:00 to 11:00 both days approx.
Bait: Crab and Rag
Rigs: Pulley Pennel and 3 Hook Flapper Size 1/0 hooks.
Tide: 20:00
Wide: Strong westerly.
Species: Bass, Smoothounds, pups, tope, plaice, flounder, whiting, doggies, bull huss and whiting.
Fantastic couple days fishing of the beach in wexford. Some real specimen fish. From the first cast on the Saturday I had a cracking smoothound easily 7 or 8 pound.
Strong westerly breeze but had the tent up to keep out of the breeze. The baby tope where destroying the rag. A couple times I had a treble of tope with pups plaice and whiting.
Beautiful bass as the evening went on and at least 30 doggies over the 2 days. Bass was returned safely. I had one huge bite which just sat every time I tried to real in. I say maybe a big ray which eventually snapped the leader knot.
I wasn't planning on fishing a second day but the fishing was so good had to get back out. Was sick I didn't buy more bait the fishing was that good. Few photos below of the catch on the weekend.
Cheers,
Joe
