I can go try to catch a pollock or can I ?

I have caught a bass or 2 in the place I have caught a few pollack in the past . I still want to go out fishing and have no intention of taking a bass but I don't want to risk having my gear confiscated.

Not caught a fish yet this year and been trying at least once or twice a fortnight since new year .

I'd say the smoothie would be difficult on a lure :)

Of course you can target pollack. It would be a matter for the fisheries officer to decide. If you are fishing deep rock marks then you will be fine. If you are fishing in an estuary in shallow water with a feed shallow it will be difficult to persuade that you were targeting pollack :) :)

Common sense should prevail!
