SportscastIreland results Sunday 19th Slaughterhill

Mon Mar 20, 2017 8:35 pm

We decided to have two tournaments in March and April to avail of the big winds that frequent these months.Easterlies were anticipated but Westerlies were given. The big SW howling over the hill brought frequent heavy rain with the greatest gusts which ensured taking advantage was hard work. Nonetheless some fine casts were achieved with Andrew getting a 50 and Ger a PB of 36 on the 150grm. Considering Ger is only tournament casting a few months, this is some achievement. Ian Daly also had a PB of 186m which in old money is 203.4 yards, which I think is his first so a big congrats. Guest day caster Darragh Farrell also had a PB of 160m his first time on a casting court.

A big thanks to all who helped set up and take down the court.

Results

Andrew Gormley 250m 150grm
Ger O Donnell 236m 150grm PB
Paddy Cunningham 231m 150grm/226 125grm
Lee Gallagher 212m 125grm
Ian Daly 186m 150grm PB
Brendan Cleary 176m 150grm
Darragh Farrell 160m 150grm PB

Great run down of the day buddy... What a bitter cold day and that rain really made things difficult at times but good crack yet again with some spectacularly acrobatic casts, but prob better to do it with two hands next time Darragh...!   Trying to get the best out of the conditions was tough but some great casts put down none the less. Big well done to Ger on yet another PB and to Ian on getting it over 200yds and also to Darragh for showing great potential on his first time on court, same time same place on April 9th..
