This is really interesting. I've always liked the idea of a saltwater aquarium. I've got a standard fish tank with an air pump installed in it, designed for freshwater use. Would this work for saltwater or not?

Hi teegerstk the tank and air pump should be fine the filter might be a problem,sent me the details of the tank and filter and I will ask a lad I know if it will be ok

If you stretched me out on the rack and threatened me with a red hot poker I would guess at a tadpole fish, Raniceps raninus, max. length about 30cm, large head with wide mouth.

Thanks for the reply johnwest I should have given a better description
what was left of it was about 30cm and the skin was smooth
I did get 3 tiny tadpoles fish in the rock pool close to it
