i was told that it easier keep bigger tanks,my one is only 10 gallon and having no problems so far,if you live near salt water it makes life easier,i was told to change about 20% of the water every month and to make sure that the air pump and filter are suitable for the size of the tank,at the moment i do a full change every week its a excuse to get out fishing as wellm.b3 wrote:i have a nice 3foot tank sitting empty...

when changing the water let the new water get to room temperature first,if there is a difference of 2c it could kill the fish
don't over stock the tank
some species will eat the others so a bit of care is needed when stocking,sea scorpions look lovely but will eat everything in the tank
when feeding avoid oily fish as they will color the water
