The smaller crabs in the last pic we are confident are young velvet swimming crabs. The bigger crab in the last pic we are pretty sure is Montagu's Crab - this is the one I don't think I'd seen before, pretty rare up this way..
Also found a Hairy Crab and a Brown-Clawed Porcelain Crab
Yeah, will have to get a tank set up soon ...

Modified the tank a bit today, while rock pooling yesterday I found a ridge tile that was dumped in the sea and it had tube worm on it
I cut it to size and with the L shape of the tile it sits in lovely,I might need to get a few led lights to light it up a bit betterImageImage
I also changed the smaller tank a bit and put a few egg cases in to see what will happenImageImage

Tank no 3 picked up today, it needs a good bit of work done to it,I need to redo the silicone and make a stand and hood for it
It also needs a few stress bars and a good clean as well
I will post up a few photos as it is progressing
The tank is 54 inches long,24 inches high and 18 inches wide and holds 380 liters

thanks dan, keeping a tank is great way of getting to see some species you would never see on a hook and line, next time you are fishing around low tide bring a small net and rub it under some of the seaweed at water level or in the rock pools and see what you will get
Would be nice to see some photos of other tanks as well

Up graded and cleaned the tank tonight, spent a good few hours rock pooling this week, some of the spots were quite but did get loads of rockcook and gold shinny wrasse and a nice rock to add a bit of colour to the tank

sorry about the link you can find the book on this link http://www.topfisher.eu/wp-content/uplo ... ressed.pdf
if it dose not work i can email the book to you
the saltwater tanks are quite easy to keep and its great to see how some of the fish we target while fishing react under the water, some of them would surprise you
plus it will keep you fit jumping around rocks on the shore and its something to do at low water as well and you will get to see some species of fish that you would never see on a hook and line
