Hi Kieran,
just saw your idea, sounds good. You can count me in as no.13. Might be lucky for me! I don't know much about the running of a club but I'm willing to learn.

I may be able to help out as secretary or (gulp) treasurer. I do have a paypal account that I could use.

Joining new club

Thu Jan 13, 2005 3:30 pm

Hello Kieran.
This nearly slipped my mind. I am a member of an affiliated club in Donegal (Treasurer) I would love to join, let me know when you want the membership. I would join as a full member, but as regards being a club officer that would be out of the question, due the distance involved. I have seen throught the years that club officers have to be near the area of operations. If they are not the club wont work. It would be able to run an open like that. But it is the club competitions that are important. Even thought I am in Donegal I have some experience of Treasurer

Hi

Okay

I need the name address and contact numbers / email for all the people who have asked to join the club. JD has offered to act as treasurer and KJFIreland has agreed to act as reserve delegate for Leinster. I need two delegates from Leinster, who ideally would also act as the club chairman and club secretary... we'll be fair about that and insist people need only serve for 1 year, i.e. to December 2005. PM with your contact details and anyone who is prepared to volunteer for the positions, please indicate this.

Thanks

Hi Bazz, Dingbat et al

Please do NOT post your details here (there are odd folk on the internet and we've had a few loolahs visit the website over the last few years), rather send them to me by Private Message and we will contact you with the details of the membership and the first meeting(s) of the club.

Still looking for a chairman and two delegates to the IFSA...

If you all sign up we're heading for 20 people...

Thanks

I would be interested in joining as this would allow me to take part in IFSA boat competions like the one held down in Greystones. What do i have to do to join? :?

progress...

Mon Jan 17, 2005 3:19 pm

Right!

Club Officials:

Assuming no one has any objections JD will act as treasurer and I will act as chairperson for this year. We will open up a bank account under the name of "Sea Angling Ireland SAC" to which all subs will be deposited. I also think it is only fair if officers are asked to serve for one year only although some continuity is probably advisable.

JFKIreland has put himself forward as a reserve delegate and I suppose it makes sense that myself and John or the secretary (no volunteers yet) to serve as the main delegates to the IFSA, assuming they accept us as a bona fide SAC. JD is based in Dublin, I am in Mayo, so we are looking for some bodies from the South / South West and the North. Well anyone ?

Dingbat, would you stand for secretary... given you are treasurer for your local club, it would be great to have your experience on board?

I will post a page to the website under this link HOW TO JOIN, it is already in the NEWS section on the front page and I will put a link in here as well.

If anyone has any objections to anything they see here, please PM me ASAP.

Thanks

Well, the PayPal seems to work OK. I've just sent payment!

Hope you're ready!!!

Mon Jan 17, 2005 4:00 pm

Ok-
The paypal system is working- I have transferred money into it myself, and IdPearl has as well.
When a Bank Account for the Club is set up I will transfer the money from the paypal account. I'll discuss the details with Kieran. Any problems let me know.
