from dave at celtic baits, charges about a euro per crab either alive r frozen. beats hours running round rocks for me!

Depends where you are. If you're Dublin way, I can guide you toward a little rocky bay. If you are elsewhere, a shallow bay with weedy, rocky outcrops should provide a bounty.

But not on the N side of Carlingford lough, that dam place is doing my head in.

Nothing but bloody male crabs, and even they have buggered off, untill the fresh water runs out/ less, ah hell, theres been 2 much rain!!!!!!!!!!

Traps are barren and so's me creel.

Me thinks you want to watch that developing peeler addiction! I've given up on the damn things........in fact I think I've discovered a distinct race of Donegal crab, new to science, that doesn't ever feel the need to peel!!!!

Seriously think I'm beginning to experience peeler withdrawl symtoms....thieving to pay for the habit en all'.....keep wrapping up inanimate objects in elastic thread...phones, mugs, shoes..you name it. Can't really picture Bigby and Renton hokin' for peelers!
