Irish angler

Just got the may issue of Irish Angler . Some good articles . Its about time someone published a decent Irish angling magazine .

The big thank you on behalf of anglers is for Roger Baker down in Kerry who has put in a massive amount of work on this project over the last six months. Funny thing about the flounder article, I wrote it several months ago and he was looking for photos and I caught every damn thing imaginable in the intervening period without getting a single flounder :? Broke my flounder duck only last week down in Youghal on the Ferry Point with a relatively small fish about 500 grams. As for the magazine, I really like the production values, and it is published by the same people behind TSF. I can guarantee, having seen some of the other articles that will be published in later editions, that you will be delighted with the quality of the pieces, photographs and information...

Must check the shops myself! :lol:

Just bought it. Fantastic stuff.....informative and insightful. And the "little red box" will fit perfect into an empty pocket in my fishing jacket. I think Sea Angler is on the back burner for me, now. Well done Roger!

Alright SOD , I got my issue at the airport and I'm really impressed. Its definetely something for the all round angler but it might be lacking for people only interested in one type of fishing who would prefer a specialised magazine.

The market is simply too small in Ireland for a specialist magazine for sea anglers, and most people will try their hand at coarse or pike angling never mind fly fishing from time to time... anyhow I hope it works and that's not just because of the article, I think we need a decent magazine.

The mag, Kieran is spot on about Ireland being a tad on the small side for sea fishing only.

Put it all in, but make sure "SEA FISHING" has more than the rest.

Must try this pike fishing thing, the part on bass fishing being mobile is 100% I enjoy that and having some one put it in writing, the wife now knows I not the only mad man about.

DT , I take it from your post that you only sea fish ?! Where's decent for shore fishing within driving distance of Armagh ? Ever tried over Greenore direction ?
