Has anyone on here caught bass from ballykissane pier in killorglin? If you have what did you get it on? And did you get it from the pier or did you walk up the left side of the pier?

Back in the late 90s when I was living in killorglin I spent manys an evening up and down that stretch. On several occasions I picked up small schoolies over high water when spinning but water would have to be gin clear ie no rain for several days ,july/august were best times. Not very consistent to be honest, better fishing to be had as you head towards Cromane and Rossbeigh.

Thanks for the reply! How big were they on average ? And what spinners did you take them on?

From memory not very big at all 2/3lbs max.Tasmanian devils& black flying cs with bronze blade. As I say it was a long time ago and not consistent enough for my liking.Better fishing out towards more seaward marks.

High water, early morn, pre-dawn if poss, and on or near to New or full moon tides and gently bounce SP's in the current from right to left on the drop. Also try casting a weedless weightless sp and allow to drift down on its own imparting little or no action on it. Start with dark green in the dark and then a brighter colour at sunrise.

One mistake ppl make IMO, is bouncing plastics like they are trying to shake weed off. Ye might pick up small bass but it spooks bigger bass. Do as little as possible and trust me on the do nothing too. I was told this info and was wary until I tried it and seen it working first hand. Accounts for some very big bass.

Has anyone been out shore fishing around the Dublin area? If so where and what were you catching?
