Depends on where you are, but the Shannon estuary would be as good a place as any for rays around this time of year, and you could fish the marks on the south side around Glin, rather than putting an extra hour on yourself heading for Poulnasherry. From memory, West Cork does not throw up lots of rays. Try Youghal beach?

Glin is good over low water all right. Fecking crabs tho'

If I was going to Waterford / Cork looking for a ray, it would be in winter at distance with sandeel for a painted ray. Probably a bit late now, but you never know. Garryvoe is spot on although I think I saw a recent report for painted rays off Youghal beach?

Fished a lot of West Cork, rock and beach marks, and caught very few if any rays. Weather was sh**e too!

Glin is a very good mark on a dropping tide and low water had some decent ray in that area last year
