I was quite surprised to hear from a local that gill netting was taking place in Courtmacsherry. He mentioned as said that the really big bass are only found where netters can't get to although thought the species were quite mobile rather than resident to one area.
Quite impressed with efforts to conserve species and bye-laws put in place. We're slowly getting there in England although needs improving.
What is the bass record for the bay?
