Fished clon on the 3th may bait was fresh lug. Fished from low water till 2 hours before h/t. 1 bass 43cm all cute otherwise

Hey lads, good reports of big bass, small codling and decent coalie around the cut of the lake in Our Lady's Island in Wexford. This was last week so not sure bout this week since the weather has turned cold. Goin to try head out this week will keep weather depending..

Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade my beachcaster (rod and reel). I use mainly fixed spool reels and try and keep the rods light as I target flatties and bass most the time so 1-3 oz wight suffuices. I have an Abu 6501 teamed with an Abu Viper bass specialist rod. I would love to upgrade to a Daiwa slosh 20/ Penn mag 525 or even Okuma mag 20. However, I have that dreaded impediment of being right handed but using a multiplier with my left hand.... as I found out recently that the aforementioned reels don't come in left hand models... bummer.

I have had limited success with the abu and have found max distances of up to 110 yards can be achieved but birdnests are the norm unfortunately. It means that I bring the fixed spool just in case all the time!! For these reasons I would prefer tp steer clear of the abu's as I hear the penns ect are much easier to use... It would be great to achieve distances of 150 yards with no birdsnests....

I presume I'm not the only LH/ ambidextrous fisherman.... can...
