I enjoyed that, welll done to JW on his blue. I had two tope on the Beal, one nice one of 36/37 lbs or so. Some nice whiting and I dropped a haddock at the side of the boat :(
We had to give Luke's brother a tow from near Kilbaha, the Fenit Life boat had brought him that far after his engine overheated. Those lifeboats can moooove it...!

I had mentioned to Boycie how much bigger the swells are on the west coast, and how big waves can appear out of nowhere on the west coast. Found out this morning that another person had drowned near kilkee.

Some photos of the trip later..

thanks, i was spoofing a bit about the weight because everybody else does :-)
i reckon about the size of two good tope, 80lb

I experimented making the rubbing leader out of 200lb fluoro. At the end of the
struggle the shark bit at the rubbing leader as most do, the skipper immediately
released the tension on it and the bite only went half way through it.... so its
200lb wire wrap leader for me from now on

nothing wrong with an odd spoof now and again john  but i have to be honest i dont spoof spoof myself  .
but even spoofing about the shark you caught its still a mighty fish at a measly 80 or 90lb.

now all spoofing aside what weight was the whiting that boycie caught before he gets a chance to spoof about it, id hate to think of him coming up with something like 7lb

Cracking session, you can see where the blue part of the name comes from. I'd have been happy with the whiting :-)
