What a Beauty !.JPG
People :
Duration : 5 hours
Tide : Rising to Flood
Weather : Warm, blustery. No Moon
Bait : Mack, Crab, Rag
Rigs : Pulleys, Flappers
Results : First Bass
Report : Hit N. Wicklow mark last night with mate Joe. We fought the weed throughout the session. Usual pin Whiting, one small Dab. We were enjoying the night even though the fishin was 'slow, then....this lol I heard Joe whoopin' and laughin. When I saw it from a distance I thought he landed a small Tope or Smoothie. Nope...his first ever Bass....and What a beaut she was! Biggest one I've ever seen. Apologies for pics, batteries were just about gone in camera. I laughed when he was shoutin' '' yer gonna need a bigger ruler'' . True sportsman, he returned his prize to fight another day.
Well chuffed for him...... ( Damn...that B***h was huge

Looks like a lovely fish lads, what is the length of that ruler? Might be able to approximate the weight

Hi Bimmer, I just threw this together, it is an approximate weight of course, but given the girth of that fish I'd say it's not far off (the actual weight was probably a bit more), anyhow the approximate weight was 11lb 14oz. see below. Note the length to weight conversion is based on a length taken when the tail is flattened down and extended so that eg. the upper part of the fork is turned to be straight along the ruler (that's why the green arrow looks a little bit past the end of the tail the way it is positioned in the pic).
