Dalkey Island

Going to head over to dalkey island for an afternoon fishing and just wondering has anyone been over there? I reckon theres some nice wrasse and pollack to be had. any tips would be great.

I fished it quite a bit, but the last time was bout 15 years ago and it was brilliant, cracking pollock, wrasse, conger and macks. Keep meaning to head over and fsh the island to re live my youth :mrgreen:

I had a ling off the back of the island today from the boat,well within casting range 8)

Always thought about this but never got around to actually doing it, Is there a boat service still running from Coliemore Harbour or do you need to rent a boat from Bullock for a few hours and make your own way over.

theres a guy in colliemore that will drop you over for 10euro.

sounds like a buzz alright. whats the ground like? was just going to bring the spinning rod with lures and a float but might bring the beachcaster along too.

was out last saturday and was good craic. lots of wrasse of all sizes on the floats and a couple of pollack too. No sign of the mackeral. Tide was dropping an hour when we arrived but going to plan another trip to catch the rise. The guy in Colliemore will drop you over for a tenner and pick you up latest 6pm. Not sure what time he starts but we left round 11. Well worth the trip.
