Hi lads, I just was wached few videos on youtube about crab baits for smoothies, and the thing is that some of them wouldn't peel a crab atall, just take back legs off to prevent the crab burry itself into the sand, and the main reason of this is that puts any doggies or other small fish off.
I haven't use the crab baits to often and just want to find out wether peel it completely or not, just want to know your opinion which way is better works for smoothies here?
Thanks,
Grady

Don't think it matters to much for smoothies iv heard of them got with hard back crab , but I suppose it will look more natural with the legs .
Olso I have found when the hounds are in the crabs run for cover so this should not be a problem

Ok, that is good info, just another thing then, I wonder if just to remove a legs at their half way and top hard shelf, and leave everything else, my point is to keep it as natural as possible and also easy to chew

Hi Grady,

Hardback crabs are fine to use in that way for boat anglers when they have smoothies in the area, they can just drop the rig down to the bottom. However for shore fishing it isnt really viable as you usually have to cast your bait out. Not easy with a whole live crab. Also the peeled peeler crab will give off a lot of scent which will attract the smoothies to your hook. Hope this helps.

Perhaps you are right, casting long distance with loose bait isn't that handy.
Thanks for info
Grady
